Delete your account
Last updated: September 2026
This page is for customers of NYOTAFUNDS LOANS. It explains how to ask us to delete your account and the data we hold about you, and exactly what happens when you do.
How to request deletion
-
Fill in the form on this page
Enter the M-Pesa phone number you registered with and submit. This works whether or not you still have the app installed. You will get a reference number on screen — keep it for your records.
-
Or start the request inside the app
Open NYOTAFUNDS LOANS, go to Profile and tap Delete Account. That brings you to this page, where the request is submitted the same way as above.
-
Or email us
If neither route is possible — for example you have lost access to the phone number — email support@kopamzuka.co.ke and tell us the number you registered with.
Request received
We have recorded your request. Our team will delete the NYOTAFUNDS LOANS account registered to that number, along with the data listed below. You do not need to do anything else.
Your reference:
Most requests are completed within a few days, and always within 30 days. If you need it sooner, email support@kopamzuka.co.ke.
Data that is deleted
When we complete your request we delete the following from our live systems:
- Your account and login — the phone number you signed up with and the PIN that protects it.
- Your profile — full name, national ID number, date of birth, gender, education, marital status, employment details, employer and income range.
- Contact details — your phone and M-Pesa number, and any email address you gave us.
- KYC documents — the photo of your ID and your selfie, together with the stored image files.
- Loan application records — the amounts you requested, the terms you accepted, and your application status.
- Push notification token — the identifier that lets us send you notifications, so you stop receiving them.
Data that is kept, and for how long
Lenders in Kenya are required to keep a record of money that actually moved. We therefore keep the following, and nothing else:
- Transaction records — the amount, date and M-Pesa receipt number of any loan disbursed to you and any repayment you made, together with the identity details attached to those transactions. These are kept for 5 years after your last activity, as required by Kenyan financial record-keeping regulations.
- Identity and KYC records — where anti-money laundering law requires us to retain proof of who we lent to, for the period that law sets.
- Records we must keep to resolve a dispute, or where a court or a regulator requires us to.
This retained data is access-restricted, is not used for marketing, and is permanently deleted or anonymised once the period ends. If you have never taken a loan, there is no transaction record to keep, and requesting deletion removes everything we hold.
What we cannot do
Deleting your account closes it permanently. You cannot sign back in, and if you have an outstanding loan balance you remain responsible for repaying it — we will contact you through the phone number we hold.
How long it takes
Most requests are completed within a few days, and always within 30 days of us receiving a valid request. If we need to confirm anything with you, we will use the number or email address you gave us.
